In some instances our internet pages use "cookies" as they are known. Cookies cause no damage to your computer and contain no viruses. Cookies serve to make our site easier to use, more effective, and more secure. Cookies are small text files which are filed in a designated directory on your computer and stored by your operating system.

Most of the cookies that we use are those known as "session cookies". When you leave the website, they are automatically deleted. Other cookies remain on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser the next time that you visit the site.

You can configure your browser to alert you when cookies are being set so that you can decide on a case by case basis whether to permit a cookie, accept cookies in particular circumstances, or exclude them in general, and to automatically delete cookies when you close down the browser. Deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies to ensure that the delivery of its services is optimised and technically free of errors.  To the extent that other cookies (eg cookies that analyse your surfing of the site) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this Privacy Notice.

We will continue to hold the data you provided in the contact form until you ask us to delete them, withdraw your consent to their storage, or the purpose of storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your query has been answered). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

5. Analytics Tools and Advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The service provider is
Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and that permit an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google Server in the United States and stored there.

The lawful basis for the storage of Google Analytics cookies is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its content and its advertising.

IP anonymising

We have activated the IP Anonymization feature on this website. This means that within the Member States of the European Union or other States that are signatories to the European Economic Agreement, your IP address will be shortened by Google before it is transferred to the USA. Only in exceptional circumstances will your full address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will then use this information on the website operator's behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services to the website operator in connection with the use of the website and the Internet. The IP address that is transferred from your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be amalgamated with other Google data.

Browser Plug-in

You can prevent cookies being set by adjusting your browser settings. However, if you do this, you may not be able to use all of the functions on this website fully. You can also prevent Google from capturing and processing the data that is generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP-address) by downloading and installing the Browser Plug-in under the following link:

https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objecting to the collection of data

You can object to your personal data being collected by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be installed, which will prevent the collection of your data on future visits to the website: Google Analytics deaktivieren.

More information on the way in which Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's Privacy Notice: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Contractual data processing

We have entered into a contract with Google authorising them to process data on our behalf and fully apply the strict requirements of the German Data Protection Authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics

This website uses the "Demographics and interests" feature in Google Analytics. This enables reports to be compiled on the age, sex, and interests of website visitors. These data derive from Google's interest-based advertising and from the visitor data of third parties. These data cannot be attributed to an individual person. You can deactivate this feature at any time using the advertising settings in your Google account, or prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data entirely as described above in the section "Objecting to the collection of data".

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites use the Google Remarketing feature in conjunction with the multi-device features Google Adwords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This feature allows us to link the targeted advertising lists compiled by Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device features Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages relating to your previous visits to website and conduct on the web on one device (such as a mobile phone) can be customised to you and delivered on another of your devices (such as a tablet or pc).

If you have provided the appropriate consent, Google will link your Web and App browsing history with your Google account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalised advertising messages can be delivered to each of the devices which you sign into with your Google account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics captures google-authenticated User IDs which are temporarily linked with our Google Analytics data in order to define and compile target groups for cross device advertising.

You can permanently object to cross device Remarketing/Targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account. To do so, follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The amalgamation of the data collected in your Google account occurs exclusively on the basis of your consent, which you can give or withdraw (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where data collection processes are not amalgamated in your Google account (e.g. because you do not have a Google account or have objected to your data being amalgamated), the lawful basis for collecting the data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest arises because the website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymised analysis of its website visitors for the purposes of advertising.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google's privacy policy at

https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google Adwords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).

We use the tool known as conversion tracking In the context of Google Adwords. When you click on an advert delivered by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files, which the internet browser sets on the user's computer. The Cookies expire after 30 days and do not serve to identify the user personally. If the user visits particular pages on our website before the cookie expiers, then both Google and we can see that the user has clicked on the advertisement and been redirected to this page.

Every Google AdWords customer is allocated a different cookie. The cookies cannot be traced via the websites of AdWord customers. The information captured by the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers that have opted for conversion tracking. Customers find out the overall number of users that have clicked on their advertisment and have been redirected to a page that is tagged for conversion tracking. They do not, however, receive any information which could personally identify the user. If you do not wish to be tracked, then you can object to this use easily by deactivating Google Conversion tracking in the settings of your internet browser. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of "conversion cookies" is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of the user's behaviour in order to optimise both its website offering and its advertising.

More information on Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking can be found in the Google's privacy policy:

https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can configure your browser to alert you when cookies are being set so that you can decide on a case by case basis whether to permit a cookie, accept cookies in particular circumstances, or exclude them in general, and to automatically delete cookies when you close down the browser. Deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
